Success Story:
The customer was having a difficult time with tool change frequency on a short cycle time stainless steel job; and hoping to get an insert with more tool life to keep the machine running longer. The competitor's insert was achieving 700 parts per edge as a maximum, but the Manchester insert lasted an average of 3,000+ pieces running at the same speeds. The customer is in the process of changing everything over to Manchester.

1" RD CR SS 304 Annealed.
Goal: Find a longer lasting cutoff insert.
Competitive insert:
Lasted only 616 parts.
Trial tool: Manchester 507-355-48.
Results: Manchester lasted 3800 parts.
"That's a 517% increase in tool life!
Needless to say, we switched to Manchester."

Success Story:
Since switching to Manchester,
our tool life has doubled, sometimes tripled... making it
so much better than competitors we've used. We get a much
better product because of the rigidity of the tool. When
tools last us twice as long, that creates lower cost per
cut for us!

Success Story:
Manchester Groovidex
Insert vs Tungaloy Grooving Insert.
The Manchester Groovidex insert performed very well in tests
and during actual production against our previous insert.
The extra edge (4 vs 3) with a slightly lower insert price,
decreased our cost per edge by nearly 35%. The tool life
was also dramatically better. During our tests, we showed
a 43% increase in tool life, but we are optimistic about
getting closer to a 70% increase with further fine tuning.
The chip control from the Groovidex insert was also superior.
The chips were wound into a cylinder about 3 times tighter
than that of our previous insert. All this data combined
with a shorter lead time and Manchester's excellent service
made this an easy choice. Manchester Cutting Tools helped
us greatly reduce our cost per cut.

our tests, we showed a 43% increase in tool life,

Success Story:
I work for a job shop
that runs a variety of materials which has made finding
a cut-off system that works consistently on all materials
somewhat of a challenge. We switched to Manchester a year
ago and not only have we seen longer tool life and higher
speeds and feeds, but because of less failure we have seen
large cost savings on tool holders.
